An oversized recliner will swallow a standard tray. If yours drops between the arms instead of resting on them, this is the length you actually needed.
A carved wood laptop tray made to order at 40 to 44 inches long and 10 inches deep — long enough to span a big recliner or a wide lounge chair, without the bulk of a 12 inch board.
Who it suits:

Built in pine, poplar, cedar, oak, cherry, mahogany or black walnut. Every edge is a double round-over, top and bottom, all the way around, then three coats of urethane.
Wood is a natural product with variations and may include stabilized knots, so no two laptop desks will be identical. Wood will be edge glued to achieve the requested width. If you want a board that is not edge glued or want a "live edge" look contact me for a quote.
Weight is about 5 pounds in pine or poplar, and about 8 pounds in white oak, with cedar, mahogany, cherry and walnut in between.

Matte: flat, no shine. Shows the grain, hides fingerprints.
Satin: soft low sheen. Most popular, most forgiving.
Gloss: high shine, wipes cleanest, shows every water spot.

My chair measures 40 inches — which listing? Depending on how wide the arms of the chair are, either the 35-39" or the 40-44" should work fine, really your personal preference.
