10" x 30-34" Laptop Wood Tray for Recliner Carved Lap Desk Dinner OPTIONAL Tablet Slot, Vent Holes, Book holder Cell Mug Wine Holders
$130.00 – $204.00
You've got the chair figured out. The laptop is the problem — hot on your legs, sliding every time you shift, and nowhere to set the coffee down.
This carved wood recliner tray spans the chair arms so nothing rests on you. Made to order, 30 to 34 inches long and 10 inches deep — the size most recliners take, and the one I build most often.
Who it suits:
- Working from the recliner all day instead of at a desk
- Dinner in the chair, without a plate balanced on a cushion
- Recovering from surgery, when the chair is where you live for a while
- Students and anyone who'd rather not sit at a table to get things done
Your choice of pine, poplar, cedar, oak, cherry, mahogany or black walnut. Every edge gets a double round-over — a quarter round top and bottom, all the way around — so it's easy to grip and nothing sharp sits near your arms or chair. Three coats of urethane.
Wood is a natural product with variations and may include stabilized knots, so no two laptop desks will be identical. Wood will be edge glued to achieve the requested width. If you want a board that is not edge glued or want a "live edge" look contact me for a quote.
Weight is about 3.5 to 4 pounds in pine or poplar, and about 6 to 7 pounds in white oak, with cedar, mahogany, cherry and walnut in between. Finish and options move it slightly.
Choose your finish — no extra charge:
Matte: flat, no shine. Shows the grain, hides fingerprints.
Satin: soft low sheen. Most popular, most forgiving.
Gloss: high shine, wipes cleanest, shows every water spot.
How options are counted — $9 each. Choose the number in the "# Of Options" dropdown, then list them in the personalization box.
Counts as 1: wine glass slot · shot glass depression · coffee mug depression · tablet/iPad slot · cell phone depression · engraved phrase or name carved into the wood, up to about 20 characters including spaces (longer than that needs a custom quote — just message me) · votive candle holders (up to 3) · laptop vent holes, which go through the board · hole cut out on one end for hanging, rectangular or circular · non-slip grips on the underside
Counts as 2: set of 2 metal handles · stain (available for pine) · risers, if you'd like the tray higher than the armrests, up to 4" tall · laptop vent ridges, carved 1/8" deep for extra airflow — these do not go through the board
Counts as 3: book stand, which also gives you the ability to use it as a tablet slot · backstop, which stops pens and pencils rolling off the back and helps prevent bowing
NOTE: Vent holes and vent ridges are two different things: holes go all the way through, ridges are shallow channels carved into the surface.
Plain tray? Choose "Base (No options)" and type NONE.
List more than you selected and I'll message you with the difference before I start — no work begins until we agree.
Consider adding a "CraftedLink" to your purchase:
A Tap-to-open NFC tag upgrade to any CraftedCarvingsUS product. I can set a small NFC tag into the board, invisible from the front, or I can carve an NFC symbol to help you locate it. Tap it with a phone and whatever you choose opens.

At checkout:
1. Wood and number of options — the two dropdowns above Add to Cart. These set the price.
2. Requested Options — list each one, including any text if requested with font choice. Type NONE for a plain tray.
3. Size — choose up to the stated size for both length and width.
4. Finish — choose from matte, satin, or gloss polyurethane
I'll send a mockup showing where everything lands on the board before I cut anything.
FAQ:
How do I measure? Outside edge of one arm to the outside edge of the other, at the point you'd rest the tray. Order that number or an inch over — too short is the one mistake I can't fix later. Plenty of buyers go longer on purpose for the overhang, especially with the handle cutout, so it's easy to grab.
Which options do laptop users pick? Vent ridges, a coffee mug depression and a cell phone depression is the common set. That's 4 options.
Will it slide? Not usually on upholstered arms. If yours are leather or wood, add the non-slip grips — they count as 1.
